Equine Veterinarian

The Role:

We are expanding our team and have a permanent full-time (40-hour minimum) position available for a motivated Equine Veterinarian. This role will predominantly be a first opinion role, working 5 days per week (inclusive of weekends – Friday until Tuesday or Thursday until Monday) to assist with our weekend on-call roster. Additionally, you would be required to be on-call for after hours for the weekend from Friday PM – Monday AM and will receive every third week off on a rotating basis.  

This amazing opportunity will be based at our Cambridge branch; a full-service equine clinic located in the heart of the thoroughbred breeding, racing and general equestrian community.  We are well equipped with digital imaging modalities, nuclear scintigraphy, video and dynamic endoscopy, modern theatre and hospital facilities.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Relevant Veterinary Degree and eligible for registration with the New Zealand Veterinary Council with no time limitations.
  • Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as an equine veterinarian
  • Be confident working with critical care and emergency cases in an after hours situation
  • A proven ability to make sound judgements in an autonomous environment
