Equine Accounts Administrator

About Us:

Waikato Equine Veterinary Centre is a full-service equine clinic located in the heart of Waikato. With our state-of-the-art facility and highly experienced team, we cater to all equine athletes and leisure horses providing the best possible service and care to our patients.

The Role:

We are looking for a positive, friendly but hard-working accounts administrator to join our expanding team. This is a permanent full time position working Monday-Friday, 8am – 5pm.  The role mainly involves ensuring accurate and timely inputting of patient clinical records and veterinary billing, answering phones, reconciliation of accounts, as well as various administrative tasks such as report writing, organising pre-purchase examinations, dealing with client queries etc. You will be responsible for day-to-day interactions with our external clients, veterinary surgeons and nursing team.

Our ideal candidate will have: 

  • A background in either a veterinary practice environment or the equine industry (essential).
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Accuracy, an eye for detail, with strong numerical skills.
  • Above average skills in common computer suites such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, etc.
  • Previous experience with our in-house veterinary software is Ezyvet. Any experience with this would be advantageous, however it is not essential.
  • Excellent customer service skills in answering phones, email queries and walk-in customers.
  • The ability to hit the ground running and work well within fast-paced team environment.  
  • Great time management and multi-tasking skills to meet deadlines.
  • The ability to be flexible and willing to adapt to ensure overall efficiency of the team.
  • At least 2 years accounts administration experience.
